The biggest problem with affiliate sales is that you need to get your affiliate link seen be a large number of people who are looking for what you’re selling.

You can write a web page about the product, but then you’re faced with the problem of getting traffic to the page. The piggy back technique is to use someone else’s web site that’s already popular to get your affiliate link seen by people. Ideally you use a web site that is relevant to the product you’re selling.

One way of implementing this is to find a forum dedicated to a topic related to the product you’re selling, and post in that forum. Many forums will allow you to place links in your forum signature. Put your affiliate link in there (make sure this is allowed by the forum) and some of the people reading your posts will click the link.
