Tips To Build Repeat Website Traffic

by Vince Chng

1. Update the pages on your site frequently. Stagnant sites are dropped by some search engines. You can even put a date counter on the web page to show when it was last updated.

2. Offer extra value on your website. For affiliates and partners you are able to place links to their sites and products, and ask them to do the same for you. You may also advertise their books or videos, if these goods relate in your industry and aren’t in competition with your own product.

3. You can make it possible for clients to ‘opt in’ to have discounts and special offers. Place a hyperlink on your website to invite customers to ‘opt in’ to get a monthly newsletter or valuable coupons.

4. Add a link for your primary web page with a script ‘Book Mark or Add this site into your Favorites’.

5. Add a link ‘Recommend this website to a Friend’ to ensure that the visitor can email your website link, using a prewritten title, “Thought you may be interested in this”, just by clicking on it.

6. Brand your site to ensure that visitors always know they’re on your website. Use consistent colors, logos and slogans and always provide a ‘Contact Us’ link on every page.

7. Create a ‘Our Policies’ page that clearly defines your philosophy and principles in dealing with your clients. Also post your privacy policy too to ensure that clients know they’re secure when they visit your website.

8. Create a FAQ page which addresses most of the doubts and clarifications about your product or your firm that are likely to be asked. This helps to resolve most of the customers doubts in their first visit to your website.

8. Make sure that every page on your website has appropriate titles and keywords so that your customer can locate their way back to your site if they lose the bookmark.

9. Never to spam your client, who has opted for newsletters, with unsolicited emails. Later if they decide they want to ‘opt out’ from the mailings, be sure you honor their request and take them off the mailing list. They may still return if they like your products and services. But they will definitely not come back if you continue to flood their email inbox with mails they no longer wish to receive.
